Motorola W270 Cell Phone

One more low-end Motorola W-series cell phone unveiled during CES & showcase in MWC is the new Motorola W270. Like the Moto W320, it is also a music phone, except this one is a clamshell type. Just like the other phones in the W-series, the Motorola W270 has basic features including support for Hinglish & seven African languages, Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology, FM radio with RDS, adedicated music key for the digital audio player (for iMelody, MP3, AMR, MIDI), a microSD memory card slot for cards up to 2GB in memory & GPRS. It is available this 1st quarter of 2008, with prices varying per market.

Hello, I just bought a W270, it is cool!
To tranfert files, you have to format the card with the phone: Settings -> Initial Setup -> Format additional storage device
et voila!
This operation creates some directories on the phone and then, you could see it with data cable.

Hi Guys
1. Download these drivers from http://www.motorola.com/Hellomoto/Common/Default/USB_Driver_32.zip
2. Unzip and run the exe file.
3. Plugin your w270
4. check the screen it should ask for do you want to go into storage mode
5.now your phone will show up as a drive on your machine.

W270 have no software.It directly connects to the PC.only you have to do is press yes while connecting!!!!!!

Dear Friends,
For copy songs to your w270′s memory card,
1. Format your memory card with mobile
through Settings -> Format Additional Storage Device option.
2. Connect with Windows PC through DATA CABLE.
3. A message will appear on ur mobile screen. “Connect Phone as a storage device?”
Please press on “yes” butten.
4. in My computer you can see a new drive mostly named removable disk.
5. There are 2 folders may on removable disk. 1. Picutre, 2. Music. Copy songs from your computer harddisk to ‘MUSIC’ folder of ur memory card.
6. take Safely remove hardware option in task bar. Then remove data cable.

2. Unzip and save the file on your system desktop then run the exe file and when it will ask for specific drivers you will need to click on browse and guide to your desktop
3. Now your phone will connect to the pc

W270 acts as a direct plug and play device, it requires no drivers and it is capable of connecting to new USB ports, thus it may not connect to old USB ports, it is machine dependent, i myself cannot connect my phone to my PC but i do connect it to Laptops and other PCs which have high end USB ports. So don’t worry, your phone is OK but its your port which is the culprit

i have a motorola w270, bought 10 months back. it shows MEMORY IS FULL message. i am not able to receive or make calls. i have cleared the contacts and messages from the phone. even then the same message. how to rectify this? kindly help.

to all having trouble loading music to w270.format the card after you insert it to the phone.that will create the photo and music file your phone recognize. now,in case you don’t get a reply through the usb cable, remove the card and load music through a card reader to the card. photos are a bit trickier, since you have a limitation with the size, but still try.After you load the card , re insert it at your phone and choose to play from the card.(that is, when reaching the music library menu, hitting the middle button. the same goes with photos.) i have a mac and it won’t recognize the phone at all and the drivers suggested are not working. but it worked all right the way i described. write to me if you have any inquiries.

i’ve been using this phone from an year now and i am really satisfied with its performance, it has never created any problem and has an extraordinary battery life as i use this phone daily as an mp3 player for hours continiously, it’s quite rhobust in nature and handy too. the only thing ive read on internet is, that it has some issues in connectivity with PC, but its not a problem because every PC has a different configuration for USB, High speed usb drivers not installed or direct plug and play driver is older. plug it in a new PC or update your USB drivers.

hai..best regards b4…all the way that u’ve posted in this forum i’ve tried..but there’s no usefull result…i downloaded your software….but it doesn’t work…u said …from setting – format add…i haven’t it on my phone…truly i love this mode so much…but i just can’t imagine n accept if i was cheated like that…all i did..but useless..so if u have a new step for that send me to my emaill….please

I have Motorola w270 .I have 2 GB memory card .I have uploaded some music files in my phone.I can see them in my Laptop but I can’t see some songs file in my mobile.No of songs in my mobile is more than 1000.I can only see 990 songs.Please help

hell of a phone this is , took this , in a week itself it started to showing problem with battery . battery gots heat up when using mp3 and major appl.days passed battery gone weak and also the problem with charging . and .. also the keypad is worst thing . if you are frequent messager neer think of this phone . worst…
