Ghost Recon Future Soldiers Will Be Release on Q1 of 2011

In the escalating political climate of the near future – where strategies on the battlefield must be delicately balanced with maneuvers at the negotiating table – a new breed of soldier has arisen. Trained to be better than the best and outfitted with the most comprehensive array of high-tech gear ever assembled, the future soldier stands apart by his ability to remain undetected. He slips unseen behind enemy lines. He uses the perfect combination of diplomacy and force to achieve his objectives while remaining politically invisible. He is a Ghost.

An F-16 on legs, trained to lock-on to his objective even in the worlds most complex, high-risk warzones.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (previously known as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon 4) is a video game published by Ubisoft and due for release in early 2011. Excluding expansions, it is the fifth installment in the Ghost Recon series, and was announced to be in development by Ubisoft on January 22, 2009. The game will be a futuristic take on the Ghost Recon series.

Plot

The story will take place in Northern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The Ghosts will be fighting an ultra-nationalist force that took control of Russia and are invading neighboring countries. The player will take control of a 4-man Ghost squad consisting of a commando (Kozak), a sniper (Pepper), a reconnaissance expert (30k), and an engineer (Bones).

Gameplay
The game is a third-person shooter for most of the game, but when entering in cover, the game switches to a first-person camera in order to have a more precise aiming. Also, the cover can be partially destroyed, forcing the players to constantly seek for other hiding spots.[9] A new feature in the series is the “optical camouflage”, which allows the Ghosts to become instantly invisible. According to the game designer Rafael Morado, the optical camo technology, however, still a prototype and there are as many disadvantages as it does advantages and its use will initially be extremely limited.According to writer Gabrielle Shrager, it’s also possible to control drones.

Development

Initially, the title was revealed to be Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Predator by an OFLC release. However in December 2009, “Ghost Recon: Future Soldier” was trademarked by Ubisoft, raising speculation that this could be the name for the upcoming Ghost Recon 4. This was subsequently confirmed by an official announcement.

The release of Future Soldier was initially targeted for the 2009-2010 fiscal year, however Ubisoft later announced that the release date would be pushed back until the 2010-2011 fiscal year to “strengthen” its video game line-up. In May 2010, Ubisoft announced that the release of Future Soldier would be delayed until the “March quarter of 2011”.
