Eye-Fi released world’s first wireless SD memory card

California-based company, Eye-Fi, has announced their wireless SD memory card. It is known as the world’s first wireless SD memory card for digital cameras. This wireless memory card is capable of sending photos wirelessly from a digital camera to a Wi-Fi-enabled Mac or PC using wireless networks aka hot spots. It works on the SD-compatible camera and will automatically upload photos onto pre-selected social networking sites or on-line photo labs when the camera is turned on. This will save photographers time spent uploading images to computers and then to websites. The Eye-Fi Card is available now from major online retailers, priced at $99 for the 2GB. “We’re thrilled to be among the first to sell the Eye-Fi Card and we expect it to be a big hit for the holidays,” said Aaron Maguire of Buy.com. “Eye-Fi understands how time-starved our customers are, and this solution matches our users’ needs.”
