The Samsung UE55D7000 is just one of Samsung’s TV’s in their latest premium 3D TV range and it is also a part of Samsung’s OneDesign range of TV’s. The OneDesign technology for the D7000 has given us the biggest screen size possible for the smallest frame, not only does this make your viewing experience better, it also makes the D700 look super stylish-it won’t impose on your living room’s interior, it is subtle in design.
This 55 Inch 3D LED Television incorporates Active 3D technology, meaning that the 3D glasses included allow you to view the images on the screen in 3D. The glasses are now rechargeable, a great progression as you no longer have to change batteries after a few films! Samsung’s Active 3D glasses have been co-designed with leading glasses designer Silhouette, making the glasses not only comfortable, but stylish, too. The glasses also utilise technology to eliminate ghosting, meaning viewers will only see the true colours, just as the director intended.
A great feature which leads to ease of use and value for money is the features support for Freeview HD alongside normal Freeview broadcasts. This gives you the added benefit to watch Freeview HD programs without the need to buy an external Freeview HD box (less wires too!). The Samsung UE55D7000 is also leading the way for a brand new technology-Smart TV. Smart TV will enable viewers to widen the amount of content that they will be able to watch or listen to on their TV, as well as surfing the web. Smart TV’s aim is to allow viewers to use their TV for the same purposes that they use any other web enabled device. For me, this is a great advancement, as a person who uses BBC iplayer and 4od, being able to watch these programs on a full size TV screen, rather than just on a computer screen will make my viewing experience much more enjoyable.
Smart TV has also integrated Skype software, which when coupled with the Samsung USB video camera HD will allow users to make video calls across the world from the comfort of their sofa. Personally, I believe the Samsung UE55D7000 TV is leading the way for stylish yet extremely functional 3D TV’s. The inclusion of Smart TV takes the viewing experience to the next level, allowing the TV to become an all-encompassing entertainment platform.
